Berliner Wissenschafts-Verlag The so-called Bologna process, the standardization and continued development of European higher education, has reached a profound crisis that can be resolved only by a fundamental orientation around objectives and content, around the university as the site integrating professional education with personal and social education.
This volume documents the results of the first three years of the EUniCult network that arose from this insight, involving 15 European universities. It contains foundational reflections on general education and its relation to Europe's cultural identity, information on the current state of affairs in the participating nations, and presents flagship projects and exemplary modules that demonstrate how the reform process can be substantially realigned and set back on course.
