Universities, not "Degree Factories": Introducing The EUniCult Network of European Universities

Modules, credit points, shorter courses - institutes of higher education in many countries are currently having to reinvent themselves and radically revise their programs of study. But the moves towards more highly structured programs of study have their disadvantages; in particular, curricular components forstering cross-curricular cultural competence are being squeezed out.

Against this background, 15 universities from Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, France, Austria and Switzerland have taken the initiative and joined forces to develop proposals on how the efficient communication of disciplinary knowledge and skills can be complemented by the provision of cultural education.
